Holy shit this book is crazy. I have a past with an abusive alcoholic parent and it was a little bit triggering which I didn't expect because I typically don't have triggers but it definitely hit me deep reading it.
this book is mostly surrounding trauma, I got into it thinking that it was found to be romance with some trauma but it's really mostly trauma with a bit of romance. not really any spice, very much young adult with the FMC aged 15/16. I am looking forward to the next book, hopefully it'll be a little less heavy because this one was a bit of a slug getting through all the awfulness hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel.

Whilst I enjoyed the fact this book doesn’t shy away from hard topics such as domestic violence, abuse, injury, and mental health, I just found it pretty repetitive and so long. This book, if shorter could have been super impactful.

No need to read the rest of the series!

I wish I could like this book? I want to know what all the hype is about. I’ve liked a few YA books but this one was cringe worthy YA romance. I had to get 400 pages in before the first kiss even happened. The most interesting part was the very last page. I doubt I’ll continue the series.
