woah that took me on an emotional rollercoaster. the only reason why i would give it 4 stars is because i felt so bad for miller and how clara was using him and it made me so uncomfy. and also morgan annoyed me at times with her denial. but i loved so much of the novel including GRAMPS he was the VIP. miller was a real one and jonah was really great too.

fav quotes:

Look at that. You came back. -M

vip gramps quotes: (1) “I wanted
to wait and have my lawyer tell you about it after I was dead. Thought it’d be funnier that way.” (2) “I’m not immortal,” Gramps says. “Neither are you.”

the gasp i gasped- Elijah doesn’t look anything like Jonah. He looks just like Clara.

3.5 ⭐️

It was pretty good but not my favorite read out of all of Colleen Hoover’s books. Maybe because I find it hard to relate to motherhood/motherly woes lol (if anything the idea of getting pregnant/becoming a mother makes me rly anxious and lowkey want to hurl, so reading this book definitely made me uncomfortable…). The whole twist on the accident was crazy and I honestly liked that Morgan never read Jenny’s letters to Chris even up till the end. It just rly showed that she was completely over their betrayal and couldn’t care less.

Another part I rly liked was the POVs of both mum and daughter, u cld just see the differences in maturity levels and also how easily misunderstandings can occur, when two parties don’t communicate well (or communicate at all). Kinda reminded me of my own rs with my mum. I also appreciated that Clara wasn’t written as a bratty immature irritating 16-year-old, but she was quite mature in her own way, like she lashed out in rebellious ways knowing that she had no intention of actually keeping that bad habit (it was mostly done out of harmless fun).

But I just couldn’t get into the characters ): especially when Miller/Jonah came into the picture. Idk it was just really hard to appreciate the romance when there was so much shit left to clear. Clara/Miller was annoying as heck too lol, mainly cuz her rs with her mother was sooooo strained and tense that I just COULD NOT approve of their rs either lol, it just felt SO WRONG. Then it’s the exact same thing with Jonah/Morgan too, FEELS WRONG. Skimmed most of these parts. Overall, not a bad read but not my favorite!
