Brought up childhood trauma. It was too sad.

Dragged in the latter half. And such coincidence in that part too! I can’t believe it all.

I'm not saying this isn't well written, but why does the first third feel satirical and subversive, only to then result in a sappy love story and then at least partly return to the former at the end.
Really liked the unexpected sexual undertones though (upon googling I find that I am apparently the only one interpreting it that way) and who would have thought that Jane Eyre had bisexual tendencies (well, me... I thought that).

I just can't make myself care about this book. I tried, I really did but I cannot make myself finish this one.
