Jingle Bell Pop is worth the short listen if you’re interested in the origins of Christmas songs and “behind the scenes” of how some of the “modern” era songs were written and recorded.

This is a fun short listen about the history of Christmas and Holiday music. It starts with Silent Night, and includes explanations for songs like Jingle Bells. It has some really interesting interviews with songwriters of songs like Santa Baby and All I Want For Christmas Is You. They try to answer the question of why some songs “stick” and come back every year. They don’t really have a definitive answer of course, but there are some interesting theories.

Didn't log this at the time, but very good in my memory. At least I know what I rated it then.

I picked this one because I'm trying to find my holly jolly in a year when I'm not feeling it. Some very enjoyable tidbits and backstories about favorite songs. It did jog me along by reminding me that I actually do like Christmas music.

This was another free Audible book and a quick listen. I enjoyed learning about some of the people who created the holiday classics we know and love. There were pieces of interviews by composers and writers and I loved hearing what was going on in their heads. The guy who wrote Santa Baby wasn’t confident at all and didn’t think anyone would like it. Now it’s sung at every holiday concert ever. That whole story was crazy to me. Fun listen!

I wanted more about blues Christmas and less about Colbie Caillat.
