I really had high hopes for this book but it didn’t live up to my expectations, fell a bit flat. It also took me quite a while to read which I didn’t expect. It was enjoyable but I really didn’t like the main character which left me annoyed the whole way through. The writing was nice though. Having read through the twist at the end, I was hoping there would be one last act by the protagonist, but sadly no.

Honestly one of the worst books I’ve read this year. If you think this is a clever critique on the class system PLEASE widen your reading!! Her constant cynicism gets incredibly boring after 20 pages and the millenial overtones were unbearable. I don’t know why this was published, the victim complex of the narrator and the genuinely unfunny jokes made me want to not finish. The plot was FINE but the murders felt unclever and rushed, this book will age badly. Honestly avoid.

Whilst this book annoyed me drastically, I also thrillingly enjoyed it.

The main character, Grace, was immensely annoying; very pick-me, very hateful of everyone else. The worst part about her for me was how hard done by she felt. She feels like the whole world is against her and this makes her so vengeful of everyone she encounters.

What I did enjoy about this book was the plot and the lil twist at the end. I am a sucker for reading on just because I wanted to know what happened, and I believe if you stick this one out that you'd be happy with the ending too.
