pretty standard preston and child book! w them you sort of always know what the formula is gonna be, but i feel like the plot and mystery in this one was pretty good. i think this one’s one of the earlier ones so wasn’t a huge fan of the use of the f slur + they don’t seem to know what a goth actually is. generally good !! i was enriched towards the end with all the different points of view in the cave

The fouth instalment of the Pendergast series is my favourite to date. Scary, believable and even terrifying at times.

After my gripes with The Cabinet of Curiosities, I have to admit that I am now hooked more than ever before on this series. I simply love the character that is Pendergast and I never grow tired of his laid back southern attitude. A couple of other memorable characters make their appearance, most notably Corrie Swanson. I thoroughly identified with her character and while perhaps not as well developed as Stephen King would, the authors did a damn good job with her character.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a thriller with a dash of horror. Throw in a small Kansas town with the subsequent mix and peculiarities of small town folk, and you got yourself a winner here. Reminded me a bit of the original Twin Peaks TV series. Very atmospheric.

Asesinatos entre maizales. No puede haber mejor premisa para unas vacaciones, según el agente especial Pendergast del FBI, claro.
Intriga, suspense, terror. De prosa ágil y de lectura rápida.
¡Estoy deseando saber cuál será el próximo caso!

This was an excellent re-read.

Not the best Pendergast novel, but some interesting teasers at the end...

These books never fail to disappoint my adventurous mind. Love the Pendergast series so far!
