its amazing how any creative work can be interpreted in so many ways, and that what we may consider a monster may be nothing but a misunderstood being. this book truly calls to question what is interpretation, whose is correct, and by what means do we judge? monsters and misconstrued readings if literature seem very closely linked (e.g. catcher in the rye, etc).

Wow. After Curiosities it just went up. The setting made the creepy factor skyrocket and added to the feeling of isolation. The end will keep you up. And also, don't read this at alone. At night. *shudder*

I'm starting to really love Pendergast.

These thriller/mysteries are my kind of escapism--serial killers! Psychology! Weird characters!

I thought that Cabinet of Curiosities was my favorite Pendergast book, but this one ranks right up there with it - it just might be a tie for first place. Love Preston & Child, Love AXLP.
