My favorite out of the 4 so far. I enjoyed Pendergast out of New York.
It’s a Pendergast novel, so definitely not bad. But I found the end of book, in which the identity of the killer is revealed, not very credible.
My fourth ‘Agent Pendergast’ novel and without a doubt one of the most thrilling books I’ve ever read! Absolutely brilliant!
I loved the setting and I really liked Corrie Swanson (Pendergast’s sidekick for this case), and even if the body count is very high and the killings were described a tad too detailed for my liking, this book is absolutely captivating from the beginning to the very, very sad and tragic end.
It’s very rare that I feel sympathy for such a vicious and brutal killer, but in this case I really, really do, and I’m extremely glad that the book ended like it did. Because in the end it all makes sense. Twisted sense, but it’s absolutely comprehensible. Or at least it was for me.

And even if Sheriff Hazen saved Corrie’s and Pendergast’s life in the end, he will still remain a very unlikable, stupid and intolerant character for me.

Excelente novela! no podía parar de leerla, quería llegar al final y saber todos los secretos y vaya sorpresa que me llevaba con lo que pasaba! una verdadera novela policial y de suspenso, 100% recomendada
The ending to this book was amazing and very eerie. Right up my alley! However, the first half of this book was pretty slow and difficult for me to get through. But I guess it was necessary in building the setting and introducing all of the characters in order to solve the mystery. I thought it all wrapped up very nicely at the end. You weren't left with a lot of unanswered questions, which I always appreciate in a murder mystery. My husband recommended that I start with this book in the Pendergast series. I'm not sure if that was the best choice or not, but this was my first. I love Pendergast's character. He reminds me a bit of Sherlock Holmes, but better. I look forward to reading more novels from the series. A warning to readers, there is quite a bit of language, so be prepared for that.
To be honest I had a hard time with this book for the first 150 or so pages, but once I really got to reading it was a very good read. The last 100 pages were a breeze to get through as you wanted to find out how this was going to end. Overall, a very interesting story and I will check out the other books by these authors.

A serial killer starts killing in a small Kansas town. The corn is high, the heat is hot and the agent, that appears out of nowhere, dressed all black, is really weird....
If you are into graphic violence, this is for you. Really nasty murders, with a lot of detail! Ewwww. I sort of made my way through that book in small doses. Pretty gruesome. And that agent was really very weird.
I have read other books by these authors and loved them. But this one was so violent, it put me off a bit. Just a bit too much, thank you.

I really wanted to like this book, but it was a pretty terrible read. Far-fetched, flat characters, and maybe the world’s longest [very not awesome] ending. Would have been dramatically better if an editor had said “hey, maybe there doesn’t need to be 200+ pages of pointless nothing?” Also, the main character’s deduction skills are obviously top-notch, but come across as 100% non-believable and incongruous to every relationship and setting throughout the story.
