the art is so spectacular and the narrative itself was interesting, but it went by soooo fast, it was hard to enjoy the story to its full potential :/

Great Book!

The book was filled with fun adventures and lots of bright illustrations. It is great for 9-12 year olds. Totally recommend it.

Mixed bag. I think I would have liked it more if I wasn’t part of the small segment of readers familiar with the original book. This is a fun adaptation with some truly beautiful panels but it’s not always a *good* adaptation. Rushed. Sometimes speech heavy. And still doesn’t convey everything clearly that needs to be conveyed.

Interesting story line, the illustration is wonderful! I'm so glad she did this adaptation because it was much easier to read it in graphic version I remember I tried to read the original novel and wasn't in to in (I was a moody teen then so who knows).

Feels like a story that does need a whole book rather than being so short as a graphic novel. It seems like a lot is missing. However I did still enjoy reading it.

This is a quick and easy read. Its target audience is young teens, and it shows. It was an ok story but not something I'm going to be returning or memorable.
The positive point: The art style is great! It's gorgeous, everything was so vibrant with color and especially because it plays a huge role in the magic system.  I loved the artist's style and found it very whimsical. It was stunning.
