A sweet book written by a sweet old lady librarian. I didn't realize it at first, but this is actually the sequel to the author's first book about her cat, (book: Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World). I wish I had read that one first so I would've known more about Dewey and his story, but you can still easily follow the story and know what's going on. Dewey's Nine Lives includes nine stories from nine different fans and friends of Dewey's. They talk about how reading and/or experiencing Dewey's life affected their own, drawing parallels with their own favorite cats in their lives. Overall, 3.5 stars. A good book for animal lovers.
mungkin karna aku gak terlalu suka kucing, jadi rasanya rasa -rasa harus mencoba mempercayai kisah2 dibuku ini kayaknya.
So call me a crazy cat lady. I will accept that if reading this and enjoying it are indicative of being a crazy cat lady.
If I knew how to purr, I would have been doing so while reading this book. This is a collection of short stories (9 to be exact plus a prologue) about different cats, with different people, in different situations. Even though I am more of a dog person, I thought this book was a delight to read.
Wow. Such a lovely book. I devoured this book in about 2 hrs on a flight to Las Vegas. Have tissues handy. If you have ever loved a cat, or other pet, you will love this book

I didn't read the first book, but this one was interesting. I loved the short story format. There were quite a few stories that made me sad, but I am a cat person. I thought the author was a little presumptuous putting her story as the last one, but it was a cute story.
It made me want to read the first book [b:Dewey The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World|3257136|Dewey The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World|Vicki Myron|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1255685495s/3257136.jpg|3292360].

There's a word (somewhat more "made up") called Sonder. It's the word for the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. This book allows you to dive into the lives of people whose lives have been touched by a cat in a myriad of ways, showing stories where a cat's friendship and love really shone.
My favorite is Spooky, the cat that fought off a hawk and survived getting thrown into a car.
You'll have to read it to learn more. :)
