"We love a fake-dating-to-actually-dating arc. Very 'Hallmark if Hallmark had orgasms."

Yes... yes we do! And this book? It didn't disappoint!

I absolutely adored both main characters - as individuals and as a couple. The tension was high throughout and I couldn't put the book down! The chemistry between Chase and Zoe was steamy, the open door spice and his filthy mouth were hot, and their banter had me in ranges from giggling to outright cackling. And, the banter didn't start and end with the main characters... no! The side characters were absolutely hilarious on their own - they teased like siblings and loved just as hard. This book, and the first in the series, had everything I love in a romance read and I highly recommend it.

I can't wait for the next book!

Love, love, love this book! Fake dating between PR and hockey player with amazing banter which turns into a real, serious relationship. There were many twists and turns that kept you guessing how things would go from there. Loved this story from start to finish, always craving more!

Thank you Luna Literary and Hailey Rodger for the ARC. Those opinions are my own.

Make the play is a funny, sweet and teary hockey romance. It was my first by this author and I really loved the team’s dynamics and friendships between all of them.

The banter between Zoe and Chase was amazing. They matched each other energy and I loved that.
That book was also full of emotions, with both their healing journey and learning to trust each other and themselves.

I admit that I found the middle of the book a bit lengthy. But it was really sweet and steamy so I didn’t mind that much.

I’m now really interested in reading more of Hailey Rodger’s books, especially Jack and Charlie’s story!

Oooooooookay, I see you 👀.

This is now the book I will use when I say I want them to banter and bicker. The way he is obsessed with her? The way they break together and figure it out…together. Sign. Me. Up.

This is a hockey romance which has a great balance of game play and scenes outside of the sport. But what kept me hooked? The absolute golden retriever that is Chase. He is so down bad for Zoe and doesn’t care who knows it.

“You could stop talking forever, and I’d still hear you louder than anyone else.”

Swoon 😍

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

"You’re my favourite part of every day. Even the shitty ones… especially those ones."

I was lucky to receive an ARC of Hailey Rodgers' newest book, Make the Play (book two in the Colorado Storm Series). It follows the story of Zoe and Chase.

Zoe first caught my attention in Seal the Deal, and I've not so patiently been waiting for her story ever since.

I can not tell you the hold this book had on me. I lost myself in Zoe and Chase's story.

Zoe and Chase are both battling their demons, hiding behind masks they wear for the world to see. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and seeing them open up and let each other in.

I adored Zoe; she is a strong, independent woman and has always been the one who held everything together. I loved that she is unapologetically herself and how she kept Chase on his toes.

Chase took me by surprise! I did not expect him to be like that, but I am not complaining because that man knows how to treat a woman! He is the perfect golden retriever book boyfriend. That man was so far gone for Zoe. I love the way he was always there for her, even when she never knew he was. All the little things he would say and do that showed how much he cared about her just melted my heart. Where can I get myself a man like Chase?

I loved everything about their story and thought they were perfect together.

I can not wait to read the next book in the Colorado Storm Series.

Thank you so much to Hailey Rodger and @lunaliterary.management for this ARC 🩷

CHASE FREAKING WALTON!!!!
That's it... That's the review! Just kidding LOL.
Really though, Chase is the definition of OBSESSED.
Chase has been in love with Zoe for years, and has been the bane of Zoe's existence for the same amount of time. I was giddy over their tension and banter throughout the book. Zoe did not let him have an inch, and both gave as good as they got!!
