I wanted to give it 5 but Atlas and Avery's not okay what so ever.
Sooooooo...I've never seen or read Gossip Girl, but I imagine that's what this series is like just set in the future.
This is for me what I will lovingly call a "potato chip series". These books aren't necessarily good, but I just can't seem to stop at one.
I feel like this was the best book out of the trilogy, because all the characters fulfill their arcs and often have good insights into themselves and their situations which is pleasant.
However, throughout all of these books my biggest complaint is with the character Avery. Her obsession with her adopted brother Atlas is annoying. I understand that she spent the majority of her life with him and so it makes sense that she would have a certain attachment to him, but it's like she never gave herself the chance to fall in love with another boy. And it wasn't like she wasn't around other boys, she's just fixated on this particular boy and how he just gets her and knows her and how "imperfect" he is. I know she has Max in this book, but she still won't let go of Atlas and her "love" for him.
I also really love the setting of these books in this obscene tower that has taken over New York. (Not a fan of the fact that they built it on top of Central Park but it feels apropos for the kind of people who would build this kind monstrosity.)

This was long on pages and short on plot/character development. I thought The Towering Sky absolutely dragged; this book was easily twice as long as it needed to be based on the storyline that Katharine McGee conveyed here. The character development felt flat, and the twists weren't all that twisty. I enjoyed the first book in the trilogy, The Thousandth Floor, for exactly what it intended to be: a gossipy YA novel with a unique futuristic setting. But while that one was entertaining and fun, this last installment frankly just dragged on and took me ages to finish.

Guilty pleasure.
Sci fi young adult and I highly recommend reading this trilogy in order. In the future, NYC is a massive tower with a hierarchy between floors. This is very soap-opera-y and I love it, though I liked the first two better.

Oh god.
Lättsam men engagerande läsning.

I'm actually crying right now.
I'm so so glad I finished this series, truly one of the best character-driven plots I've read in a long time and I absolutely loved the mental health representation in this.
Side note: Definitely the greatest villain redemption arcs I've ever witnessed. I absolutely hated Leda in the first book, but I love her so much now, I even see a little bit of myself in her.
I haven't had a 5 ⭐️ read in a while, I'm so content right now.
