Among the three books of The Thousandth Floor series, The Towering Sky is my most favorite. There are so many unexpected events that I didn’t see coming. It was an interesting journey to follow the story of the different teenagers who got caught in a web of lies, found who they really are, and chose their own path in life.

SO...as excited as I was to read this and finally put a neat bow on this series, it wasn't fresh. Possibly the least memorable of all 3.
Let's break it down. SPOILER ALERT!!!
Leda - Still dealing with her addiction and guilt from realizing she had killed her own half sister. Add to that the possibility that she might have murdered said step sister's girlfriend as well. But she's come a long way from being Most Hated in book 1.
Watt - Less Nadia in this book. And I was right when I wondered if Nadia orchestrated the lightning and thunderstorm that claimed Mariel. It was honestly the first thought that came to mind, BUT since our main characters didn't even know HOW Mariel died in the first place, it's understandable how they never reached that conclusion until the last few pages of the book. And now that Nadia is no more, Watt can finally be his own person. Good for him.
Rylin - She had it going on in the first two books. She was the underdog. But in this book, she was reduced to girl-who-can't-decide-who-she-wants-to-date. I was disappointed.
Calliope - WHY IS SHE STILL HERE??? She has absolutely NO business being in this book. Her storyline was separate from the rest, besides her fooling around with Cord's brother. Otherwise, she was negligible. Sure, sure, she was dealing with a snooty (future)stepsister and a step grandmother who has horrible fashion sense, and her mom's nuptials. BUT STILL. I did not give a fuck about her. You can skip her chapters and not miss anything in the main storyline.
Atlas - He's such a drab person. I can't with him.
All in all, this was on ok book. I only got through it because I like Phoebe Strole's narration.

Spoiler
Avery - Still boring. She went to the UK for school and dated a German student, Max, who traveled back with her to New York. It seemed like she had finally moved on from Atlas....but not so fast! Because home girl is still hung up on her stepbro. There really isn't any growth when it comes to Avery. You can feel things for her, such as feel bad when she got physically harrassed in the elevator after the scandal broke out. And I felt shocked when she "died" in the fire. But I felt no connection with her ultimately.Leda - Still dealing with her addiction and guilt from realizing she had killed her own half sister. I’m truly sad this trilogy is over. Even though the last book was slower than the first two books, I enjoyed it so much. I loved reading a futuristic gossip girl story. I’m looking forward to read more books by Katharine in the near future.

I forgot how the first one started till I got to the end of this one, and I have to say, I'm pleased. A little sad to see this series come to an end!
I really enjoyed this series. The final book didn’t pack as much of a punch as the previous two but the ending was awesome and what I was looking for. Manhattan year 2119 is fascinating and McGee paints the picture well.
