At first I thought that the books got better and the story had potential. But in the end, there were too many questions unanswered and the final battle between her and Paul was unsatisfying. There were so many things teased. Like the devil and his feelings for her. He didn't know her but was extremely hurt. It was teased that there was more behind it. Also the dog Chleo. The devil and she hinted that there was a reason why this dog had the intellect of a human. The flowers can give the power back, so what are they going to with those? Guard them, destroy them? Although each characters childhood was important to the plot, we only got the basics of their trauma. No characterdevelopment at all. The insanity part was well done. And why did they talk of love, when they only knew each other for like two weeks? Sexual desire isn't love, but it's portrayed as such. What about her father? Why wasn't he there during her childhood or her mother's death? And the fey thing came out of nowhere. Better world building before that, would have made that much more believable.
Overall, the story had potential but didn't deliver. And I don't doubt, that I won't remember most of this in a few weeks.
