WIth a pair of self-loathing overweight sibling protagonists, this short novel is rife with angst and disparaging comments. The result is a fun read for those who appreciate a snarky wit. As I am a friend of the author and have shared time with him in the San Francisco Bay Area, I especially appreciated the local details liberally strewn throughout the narrative. The supernatural element was an interesting twist that provides an extra dose of mystery as the plot progresses and leads to a satisfying ending that eludes the more obvious expectations.
