I will admit to reading this mostly due to the BTS album 'Wings', and even further only picking it up because my sister had bought it anyway, read and loved it. I didn't expect to find something this gorgeous in such a 'round two corners' way, but I loved every bit of it. Emils way of thinking, the way he matures, the way he learns... I truly admire Herman Hesse for this book, while many tell me his other works are not any less interesting. The language in this book was wonderful. The way Hesse describes words with not usual terms, but something like connotations, that might not jump to your mind immediately with the used word, but in that very sentence, moment and thought, just make you feel what exactly it is supposed to mean rather than know it. I would say it is a book I read first with my heart, and then with my mind, and it was for both equally interesting, wonderful and thought provoking.
