This collection of short stories was so fun and entertaining! It had me laughing the whole time! I especially enjoyed “From the Horses Mouth.” All the stories very much gave humorous and whimsical fairytales!

A solid look at the earliest writing of Pratchett. His style is clearly beginning to form the further through you get, with Quest for the Keys being distinctly discworld in style and tone. Some stories are much stronger than others, but on the whole an enjoyable read.

An interesting insight into Pratchett’s early writings. Though inevitably and unsurprisingly lacking the finesse of his later material, the wit is already there, as well as a fair bit of discworld foreshadowing in The Quest for the Keys. And his ability to find the absurd in the mundane still shines through in several of the stories.

I love short stories. I love Terry Pratchett. It was the perfect combo.

It was truly lovely being able to read the works of Terry Pratchett before Discworld. You can see his humor and style develop into the novels you know.
