Fans of Discworld will enjoy this collection of short stories that “feel like” Discworld, but are distillations of the humor and joy that Pratchett brought to his later writings.
You don’t need to have read a single Discworld book to enjoy this one. I’m gifting it to my nephew as an intro to Pratchett’s style - sort of what Gary Larson would have written if he couldn’t draw The Far Side. I’m hoping to hook him into Discworld with this a Raising Steam.

The how they found these short stories was the most interesting thing of the book. I did enjoy most of the stories since they were funny and quite short so they were a little easier for me to digest since I'm someone who is trying to return to reading books regularly. Though the language was a bit hard to understand since there were many words that were unknown to me or the reference went over my head. I did like the book, but I don't think I will reread it again anytime soon.
