I’m glad I was warned that this wasn’t one of her typical RomCom style books. That being said she was able to write this drama romance wonderfully. I really felt for Ella and what she’s gone through. Not only did she lose her baby (and so late in the pregnancy), but to be publicly flogged and criminalized for it was horrible. Seeing her start to open up to Josh was great until she learns he’s been keeping something big from her. I very eagerly opened up book 2 as soon as I finished!
