I didn't have high expectations for this book. I really only read it because it is a Red Tower book (I have liked a good chunk of them) and I am planning to go to a signing where she is 1 of 4 Red Tower authors who are part of the discussion.

I was surprised that I liked this book more than I thought. It has mafia vibes to it and I typically don't enjoy those but the story, world, and characters made it pretty interesting, especially the fae abilities that add to it. The banter in this book is also pretty good

This book was a stunning work of art. I couldn't put it down. The tension and yearning between Gage and Cate was off the charts. A must read for those that liked Fourth Wing and Throne of Glass. The first chapter was brilliantly written and the ending was so amazing in the best and worst way.
