I've read Grimm and Beast's duet and the academy of stardom series. While they are both dark or have dark themes, nothing could have prepared me for just how dark Bea Paige got with the masks. If DARK masked men are your thing, these are your guys.

Oh my god what a bloody book!!
When Bea warns you at the start of the book it contains dark themes and content, well of course I know I'm gźonna bloody love it. I'm gonna try not to spoil it for anyone with this review. Here goes.
Christy is a strong FH, she is grim's sister so you wouldn't expect anything else. She can see the "future" through her dreams. So she knew The Masks were coming for her.
Those men expected a scared, little girl, who would cry and breakdown.
Wrong. She proves them wrong at every turn.
The Masks those men, grew up with a father who abused them. Beat on them. To make them the men they are today. Only they hide behind a mask.
I won't reveal much, as I really don't want to ruin this story for others.
I would say go in blind.
I love Christy. And yes it does end in a cliffy. I honestly can't wait for book 2. This series is so different from Pen and her breakers.
It's dark and I bloody loved it!

You know when you read a book and wonder how the men who have been hurtful and done things you don't know how they will redeem themselves. Well The Mask and The Dancer is that book.
It's so beautifully written and I mean it must have been hard for Bea to write such emotion that is Christy, Jakub, Leon and Konrad.
This book is dark, probably the darkest book Bea has written, my heart broke for Jakub the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father "the collector". You learn so much about the Masks life, you can't help feel for them all.
I won't spoil the book. What I will say is they're are trigger warnings at the start of this book, and rightly so. I don't have any triggers when reading abook the darker the better. But honestly such a beautifully written end to Christy and the Masks story. I'm sure it won't be the last we hear from them though.

This spin-off duet is definitely darker than it’s origin story Freestyle. I enjoyed the build of this story and the beginning of shell cracking. I’m heading straight to the next. I am feeling very unresolved with the ending of this book. (Which is to be expected in a series)

Wow wow wow
She really outdid herself on this one. It's dark and twisted with a whole lot of spice and the plot is captivating until the last second. What I love about Bea Paige books is that they have their own identities but they flow so well together. She continues to give readers a piece of the characters from other series to keep you hooked to make you want to reread that series over and over again. You can get lost in their universes and feel like you're along for the ride.
The way that Bea can tell a story and bring her characters to life. It takes an incredible talent to describe feelings and actions. Including playing music, singing a long song, dancing, or even painting. You not only see what is going on but feel every emotion.
I was so excited to read this book. I know that it was going to be darker than anything Bea has written. I kept counting down the days until the release day. Lucky for me I got chosen to be on the ARC Team and my torture was cut short haha.
What I love about this series and all Bea Paige books are that you feel protected as a reader. She thinks about the readers and what the outcome of her writing affects our emotions and feelings. She continues to push the envelope while never losing the intricate plot. I have felt like sometimes authors write a cliffhanger to just add a cliff hanger but with Bea Paige I don't feel that way. Every word has a place on the page and every page has a place in the chapter.
The kink and spice have meaning within the book. I feel like sometimes authors just throw in spice just to add it but that isn't the case with her books. She allows readers to explore different worlds of kink without being ashamed. It is a beautiful thing and it's safe.
The thought and time that have gone into the Masks, Kristys, the numbers, and the rest of the characters shows on every page. You can relate to her characters and the care that she puts into every book. You will definitely go on a crazy ride on this one and it sets up so many book series that I am dizzy just thinking about them!
You will finish this book quickly because you won't want to let the book out of your sight. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to see where Bea takes us next!
