HG Wells just isn't my bag, I find his stories seriously simplistic and not interesting. A simple story is okay if there is a saving grace in it, the story had given away its key plot point in the first three sentences.
Perhaps if I hadn't heard this tale in a million other ways prior to reading it I would have been more interested.

A scientist discovers how to make himself invisible. He quickly learns that it is not as wonderful as he thought and unleashes his frustration and anger on the community around him.

Finally read it but on my phone. Not sure what I expected really, but it was really just a lot of running around trying to trap the poor guy. Sure he was on a megalomaniacal rampage (just like Bacon in Hollow Man) so deserves it all, but I thought there would be more about the philosophy and morals (or lack thereof) of his actions. A little disappointing, but worth reading.

man, this invisible man is an asshole
