Easy writing, very straight male storyline. Very movie-like and predictable, and typical coming of age plot. The background and historical context made it better. Not typically my type of book though given again, the very male centric POVs

This was SO GOOD! It was both a great, engrossing adventure story but also had great depth and characterization. I loved Kolya and Lev. Also filled with dark Russian humor.
