There were obvious jabs thrown at reality TV shows, like Love Island regarding misogyny/misandry and racism, and reading this book reminded me why I consider reality TV shows to be trash. I did like the story overall and how multilayered the characters were. I really liked Candice, Lily, Jacintha, and Sam. I think Sam and Lily make a cute couple. F**k Tom and Ryan though.

I couldn’t put this book down. It was a fascinating insight into the problematic nature of reality tv in a late stage capitalism/borderline apocalyptic western society. I just feel like it didn’t end. I get that we were supposed to be like the viewer, but at least the viewers probably got an epilogue in the form of post-show interviews and stuff.

This book definitely drew me in. It made me think about more than just what was on the page. I'd read this author again. It may not have been the "best" book I've read this year but I'm glad I read it. It was just a little heavier than my summer reads have been lately. Nice end of summer weekend read.

This book was impossible to put down! Super unique concept, if you are a love island fan you will love this book! The only thing is I wish the ending was a little crazier to match the tone of the rest of the book.
