Such a great look at how Avice becomes Lady Vice. Loved every second of it. I.. want a spin-off of Kat, though. Please? I suppose I'll live with The Counterfeit Contessa in the meantime. (: Clare Sager is fast becoming an insta-buy author for me. Her stories are so much fun.

This high stakes pirate adventure was such a fun read!! I loved the intro I got to this fantasy world and the main character’s tumultuous family life. I felt the first few chapters didn’t grip me the way the rest of this book did, but the story that evolved is one I enjoyed so much this is easily 5 stars for me and a book I see myself revisiting. This is the first in a series of 5 books featuring a strong, badass FMC who’s always dreamt of sailing the seas. The spice rating in this is very low, only 2 minor scenes I’d consider nearing “spice” however, these scenes are to show a relationship dynamic that plagues the FMC (all consensual, but a lack of agreement on how intimacy is/should be). Loved this book and am so glad the A to Z Challenge has introduced me to an awesome new series. 100% recommend for a fun and action filled read setting the stage for a riveting series!

Loved the premise of this character, but wasn't hooked til about half way through the book

Hated evered, thought his character death was hilarious and well deserved. Love at first sight isn't all it's made out to be

When I learned of Stuff Your Kindle Day, I decided I would dip my toe into the waters of Amazon self-published romantasy and see if I liked it.  Of course, when I found out there were pirate themed ones I was sold (see user name).  I thoroughly enjoyed this book!  It was fun and adventurous and I could see my alter ego as the heroine.  It was a little shallow in some respects, but you kind of expect that from these things.  The pacing was well done and I enjoyed the characters.  This is technically a prequel, labeled as #0, but I'm glad I started here. I am definitely going to read the whole series!
