4.4 AVERAGE

Midway through this one I was completely emotionally invested. I continue to want to smack Emmy, but I feel for her. So much regret and loss. It's hard not to feel.

This started out as an escape for me, but now it's a necessity. I need to k now the rest of the story.

Since I wasn't figuring out the world or the characters this time around, I had more time to appreciate the actual writing. I think diction has a lot to do with emotional investment. Thank you Josie for picking your words carefully.

This one was well worth the read. I'm off to buy book 3 now. I hope to get some sleep tonight.

I forgot to mention that I received the first two books from the author in exchange for an honest review. I have already purchased Book 3.

All I can say is THANK GOD I have the next book ready to go. Holy that was a roller coaster of emotions! Once I started reading I couldn't put the book down. Like it was physically attached to my hands and wouldn't let me stop reading. I'm convinced magic is involved.

- I can't emphasize enough how much I love these characters. Most of them (besides the main character of course) start off being these minor characters and somehow slowly get involved with the MC and then BAM we have a super important character that you've now fallen in love with. It's sneaky and I love it.

- I found I enjoyed reading this second book more because we've gotten all the world building out of the way and can now focus on the plot more. Which means there was room for an EXCELLENT plot in this book. It was fast paced and always kept me on my toes. I tend to have a problem with plots being predictable and I don't know if it's because I was reading this so fast that I didn't have time for theories but I honestly could not predict where this plot was going.

- This is an example of a love triangle done well. If you can even consider this a love triangle? I can't say too much without giving stuff away but there's definitely two guys and the MC seems to be torn between them in one way or another. After finishing this book I'm pretty sure I know what direction it's going in but the author continues to surprise me so who knows. I just love how during these first two books I have NO CLUE who she's going to pick which I love. I'm rooting for one guy but I'm not confident he's going to win. Other times I'm so sure she'll pick him. I LOVE the feeling of not knowing!

I'm sure I could go on much longer but those were the main points I wanted to make. If you love paranormal romance and urban fantasy then I think you should give this series a try.

Original review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Josie Jaffrey!

The Price of Silver
continues the story of Emmy, Drew and Sol. It’s hard for Emmy to be around Drew because he’s Silvered for her. She doesn’t really know her feelings and she keeps thinking about Sol. She’s stuck between Drew and Sol and she’s still trying to be safe from Ben.

Like I mentioned in my review of A Bargain in Silver, I am team Drew. While reading The Price of Silver, I was waiting and waiting for Emmy to make a move and realise she has feelings for Drew, but that never came. I was hoping that she was going to fall for Drew and I was hoping for the wrong things because that never happened.

At the end of The Price of Silver something really serious happened and I couldn’t even believe it. It was such a plot twist, and I never saw it coming. It was so unexpected and I didn’t even think that it was possible. I’m not going to tell you what, because then it’ll be a huge spoiler! You just have to read The Price of Silver if you want to figure it out!

A Price of Silver was such a good sequel and I cannot wait to read the third book in the series, Bound in Silver!

I love this world and series so much. Josie Jaffrey has me hooked instantly from the first page and I’m eager to see what’s in store for the characters. I keep reading her books in less than 24 hours which only demonstrates how captivating her writing is. I can’t wait to read the third book in this series!

The Price of Silver is the second book in Josie Jaffrey’s Solis Invicti series, and it’s even more enjoyable than A Bargain in Silver. With The Price of Silver we’re sucked deeper into the world, and Josie Jaffrey has started to throw in all the twists and turns that will leave you hooked throughout.

Like the first book in the series, The Price of Silver give us a unique story that blends vampires and zombies together to create a concoction that is wonderful in all the best ways. It’s a unique world, one you cannot wait to find out more about, and throughout this second book details of the world start to come to light. We still have plenty of questions by the end of it, but certain elements become clearer and leave you with ideas of where things will go next.

While I enjoyed many elements of this one – the way details came together, the twists thrown in, the way the world opened up, and plenty of other great things – I think my favourite was watching the way the characters grew. I came to enjoy our main character a lot more in this one, but my favourite thing was getting more Cameron. He’s my favourite character in the Sovereign spin-off series, and I adored getting to see more of him throughout this one. I cannot wait to see more development of the characters throughout the series, as this start of their development was wonderful.

With that ending, there’s no doubt I’ll be diving straight into book three for more!
