I think this book should be read by everyone in these dark times. It made me reevaluate my ideas on community, communism and capitalism.

I finished weeks ago and held off posting a review because I wanted to do it justice, but at this point it's getting silly. I have a lot of thoughts, bought a physical copy (after initially getting it as an ebook from the library) so that I could come back to it easily.

Nonfiction. Overall I really liked this book. It was way too eurocentric, suffers from childism, and still accepts too many of the underpinning assumptions holding our social fabric together, HOWEVER I learned a lot, about a lot of projects, ideas, and societies I did not know before, and that's great. This is a book I'd give to someone curious about deeper leftist thought, as it's sort of an introduction to some basic communist/anarchist concepts as well as the idea of radical hope and imagining futures. Makes me wish I'd read this 10 years ago. Still enjoyable today though.
