Wow. I was not expecting this book to be one of my top favourite reads ever but it was. This book can you have depressed and almost in tears and then laughing with actual tears on the page!

Ahh that was surprisingly entertaining. It isn't Steven Erikson, it's relatively light hearted heroic fantasy, that doesn't take itself too seriously at all. A damn lot of fun, with more chuckles than expected, nerdy references for days, and a surprising amount of heart.

I'll be getting into the sequel real soon

This is another one of these plot-driven novels that I just cannot process well as an audiobook. Listened to this with the boys and they got a great kick out of it. Indeed, there are many funny parts. I enjoyed a lot of it but it’s far too long for what it is. I have a bad habit of tuning out because it feels like scenario after scenario after scenario of largely inconsequential challenges rather than events that tie together well. I’ll probably give this another chance later on. Withholding a rating for one since I missed large chunks of the narrative. It probably wasn’t anything of significance but I’d rather not assume.

Directamente a mis favoritos de este año <3
La pase demasiado bien con estos personajes. Cada uno de ellos gano mi corazón, pero en especial Moog. Este mago viejo y senil es lo más caótico y divertido del libro y ame cada segundo de él.

Honestly, I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. It's one of my new favorites, though I wasn't really expecting it to be. I laughed a bunch, and cried unexpectedly.

The friendships the members of Saga had with each other were lovely to read about and were probably my favorite aspect of the story, but I also loved watching how each character developed over their journey. Heck, even the side characters were enjoyable for me. Jain became one of my favorite characters, even though she only shows up a handful of times. I really hope she shows up in the future because I'd read an entire book about her adventures if one was written.

The references to 70s rock were great and evoked rather unique images in my mind while reading, even though I'll admit it's not my favorite era of music. You'd think that 70's rock and high fantasy wouldn't go together, but the author really figured out a way to make it work.
