I loved this book so much. I heard afterwards that this was based on a Dramione fanfic. It didn't feel like that while I read it. The story is about a war and two different types of magic. There's some spice. And I felt that this was a true enemies to lovers. I cannot wait for the second book.

Briony is a husk of a MC, whom I had almost no grasp on by the end except that ignorance is her general state of being. Messy worldbuilding using flashbacks and strange pacing make this difficult to sink into, and the romance is below lukewarm. Larissa is really the only character that interests me. I do like the mysterious political aspects and motivations but it’s not enough to make me read the next one.
