felt like reading the intrusive thoughts of an extroverted millenial. unrealistic characters in an unrealistic setting with an unrealistic storyline. the writing falls so flat that the only time i really enjoyed reading this was when i was drunk. please stop yelling "motherfucker" while having intimate moments.

this book isn’t the best, but it’s good. it showed the importance of being transparent with someone you potentially want to be with after a breakup. not to dwell on the past, but to understand how it shaped the way you love now. talking about old wounds doesn’t mean you’re not over it, it means you’re aware of how it rewired your needs, your wants, and the way you see yourself.
sometimes meeting someone who finally treats you right feels strange… like being appreciated, considered, or loved in ways you’re not used to. that it can feel uncomfortable at first, even open old wounds, but in the best way. bc that’s where healing begins. with someone patient enough to help you process it, someone willing to kiss your scars.
only downside for me? too much dirty talk and sex that drowned the story. but the heart of its message and the characters personalities? worth holding onto.
