I have mixed feelings about this one. It's an impressive idea, a very complex fantasy world exploring a lot of interesting issues, but it took me a very long time to get into, mostly due to the very vast quantity of characters and lack of explanation about the world.

Erikson’s use of non-sensical metaphors was unbearable, and his character voices weren’t distinct enough to counteract the dislike.

I don’t agree about what people said about his work being difficult to read, I thought it flowed really nicely actually, and I like the puzzle of figuring out what’s happening, I just think he needed an editor with a little more chutzpah
