4.5/5: Finished this in one day on the plane. Loved the gentle intertwining of Shakespeare throughout the book. The characters and plot were interesting, although some decisions and events were never completely explained or simply glossed over. The uniqueness of the novel’s structure intrigued me; while the prose is pretty straightforward, the chapters mostly switch between the two main characters’ perspectives but sometimes include others’ views. There’s even a jarring second-person perspective that marks a significant plot point, and a third-person pov from the view of a game character, both of which move the plot poignantly.

Well written, but honestly if you don’t care about video games it poses some true challenges in terms of interest level

The first half of the book is strong. The characters are layered and the storytelling is beautiful, engaging and relatable. About halfway through it felt like author completely shifted gears, the story got clunky, rushed and overall dissatisfying

This book is as fantastic as everyone says it is. Completely absorbed from the first sentence. Top notch. So good.
