This was one of those books where as soon as I finished reading I went “hmm”. It was such a thought provoking read and I think it will sit with me a while. The story felt original, while tackling various points many women will feel familiar with and shining a light on some of the reasons why. The story covered very serious subject matter and I thought the author handled it well, and I definitely felt the fear for the women throughout.

I really enjoyed the inclusion of different media types throughout the book, adding that extra dialogue and further illustrating the real world experience.
I don’t understand the hate Lennie and Mel get, yes I get the way they went about things might not be right, but I felt genuine empathy for them both and was proud of their strength and achievement in raising awareness of the issue of violence against women.

Definitely not a light hearted read, but a very interesting one and one I think more people should read and consider.

Categorizing this as as thriller feels like a little bit of a disservice.  It is also a truly though provoking look into the societal differences between how men and women are treated.  I really enjoyed reading this.  I think it could have been a 5 start read but I really struggled during the last 1/3.  During this section of the book the author uses primarily social media posts, podcast transcripts and media excerpts to cover the story and pull focus to how men and women are portrayed.  I think it was well done and served the overall story.  But not my reading preference.
