A wonderfully suspenseful dark stalker romance with lots of trigger warnings. I loved Arcane, seeing her struggle with the her place in her world. Arcane is such a strong FMC, super badass. This was a nice quick read with spice!
I had the pleasure of reading this as an arc. Thank you so much Rainelyn.
This is just my personal opinion. Others may think otherwise.
Monstrous grave is a taboo/forbidden, foster sibling, dark romance with a HEA.
Check TW’s before reading.
The story between Arcane and Kaiden starts with them both being adopted into the Grimaldi family.
I really enjoyed the sexual tension and the taboo in the beginning of the book. They both wanted eachother but dared not to do anything about at first.
Then the spice arrives, when they cross that line of foster siblings having fun. And I do in fact LOVE that Kaiden calls her little sister while doing not so brotherly things :).
The plot twist is that Kaiden "dies" and leaves Arcane to fend for herself. The Grimaldi's kick her out. And then becomes this badass FMC tied to the underworld filled with crime.
She is planning the downfall and revenge for what the Grimaldi's did to her. And in order to do that she has to work with Viper a notorious masked biker from a rivaled mafia family. Not to spoil this book to much. But Viper is someone you didn’t excpect it to be.
This was a good, short and spicy read!
I did enjoy this book, but it was a little bit hard to get into. In the beginning it was hot and the plot was plotting between our FMC and MMC. But then after Kaiden's "death" it kind of got a bit heavy. But I'm glad at decided to finish it. Beacause the story took of after the encounter with Viper.
I would definetly recommend this book If you enjoy short/dark stalker romances

Monstrous Grave dark stalker romance. It follows the story of Arcane after losing her foster brother Kaiden and being cast out by her foster family she seeks revenge on those that done her wrong. Insisting she joins forces with Viper the masked biker for unknown reasons.
Monstrous Grave dives into dark and taboo/forbidden themes so scenes and topics may be uncomfortable for some, so be sure to check the TW/CW before diving in.
With a dedication like that I was eager to jump right in to this. This book is dark, fast paced, intense and spicy and being a novella it is a great afternoon read. The plot and characters were well written and I enjoyed the mysterious aspect of it. Overall it was a great quick read and I recommend to all the lovers of dark, taboo stalker romances.

I was really excited for this one as I love stalker romance however it just fell really flat for me.
The writing style was really hard for me to get into, and I was not vibing with either character the entire way. I was consistently lost on the plot throughout. I really kept picking it up because I wanted to love it by the end but ended up not, unfortunately.
There was quite a bit of repetition throughout as well that took me out of the story.

Overall I definitely enjoy this book and all the twists and turns. However for like 80% of the book I didn't like Arcane. I found her to be annoying and consistently making stupid rash decisions. But the last 20% percent of the book had me feeling so bad for her and then cheering when she was finally able to get her revenge on all the people who hurt and betrayed her. I loved the mmc from the start. He was so unhinged in everything he didn't and I loved that he stayed unhinged to the very end of the book and didn't go soft. And the cage scene was 🔥🔥.

Some books affect with their harshness, others with their love story and some with their darkness. Rainelyn's "Monstrous Grave" does it with all three.
My feelings for "Monstrous Grave" warmed slowly and gradually, but in the end it managed to make me like it and appreciate how good it is.
The book is quite slow and difficult to read, on one hand because of the difficult situation in the story, on the other - because of the many inner reflections of the characters, the explanations of their feelings and emotions, which probably represent more than 2/3 of the book itself. It is immediately evident how high the writing style is because of the extremely deep and complex characters and the good execution of the story, which managed to keep my interest, although the plot is not predominant here. The story develops quite slowly, the dynamics are almost completely absent, but nevertheless it is there and you can feel it every time the action is more tense, especially at the end, at the climax, which was quite good and did not betray the rest of the book with its style.
The characters are very well built, especially Arcane, who is extremely well developed. Kaiden, on the other hand, even though we see some things from his perspective and learn elements of his past, it seemed to me that he was not given as much attention as Arcane.
"You think I won't get what I want? You think I'll ever let you have any other man? You're mistaken. You're mine now, and in all the lifetimes to go."
Their relationship is really strong and the sexual tension is shrouded all the time in a huge dose of adrenaline and an even greater dose of fear, because of Kaiden's psychopathic tendencies and his unpredictability. This, in turn, leads to great erotic scenes - a little kinky, full of passion and desire, which are clearly felt by the reader.
Ours has never been a romance of candlelit dinners, gentle and passionate intimate moments. It's the kind that delves into the deeper edges, where our souls call to each other's darkness i nways no one would ever understand.
Destruction looms over us, but oh, it has never felt more bittersweet.
The plot twist at the beginning of the climax was surprising and unexpected, which I really liked.
And the ending was very good, fully befitting the story.
"Monstrous Grave" is a book that is difficult to go through, but it is worth it.

SHE'S HIS. SHE JUST DOESN'T KNOW IT YET.
Five years on from the death of her foster brother, Arcane is enthralled with grief – living with lingering memories of Kaiden and the unconventional relationship they shared. The only thing keeping her going is her thirst for vengeance against those who betrayed her. Thrust into the criminal underworld, she finds herself forced into a reluctant alliance with a masked biker from a rival cartel. Viper García is every bit as dangerous as he is mysterious. And he’s totally obsessed with Arcane…
This a short book and a relatively quick read. By the authors own admission – “this book was primarily crafted for the enjoyment of dark smut romance enthusiasts” – and gods does it deliver on these vibes.
I adored both Arcane and Viper – who each showed their strength of character, albeit in very different ways. I loved that the physicality of Arcane wasn’t that of the standard we often find in these kinds of books. The mental health representation was great – Arcane’s struggles with self-doubt, anxiety and depression felt relatable. It also made it all the sweeter as she evolved into a badass FMC living in a world of misogynistic men. For his part, Viper delivered as an obsessive, dedicated MMC. Let’s be honest – he was just plain hot!
As usual – I’d recommend you check the trigger warnings before you pick this book up, because the spice be spicing!
With this book being on the shorter side it did mean the plot moved quickly. Rainelyn has a fantastic descriptive writing style, which I enjoyed, although at points I did feel like I needed a little less description and a little more plot exploration.
Altogether, this was a dark, twisty, entertaining read. If you want a fast paced, steamy read – this is it.
Thank you for Rainelyn for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

“We’re two halves of a cracked mirror, bound by the agony of our shared existence.”
“That’s not a way to treat your brother, princess.”
Short, taboo stalker romance.
I loved the beginning of the book. The tension between Kaiden and Arcane was well-written, and I liked their relationship.
Unfortunately, the middle of the book was a bit meh for me, and I almost DNF'd. Luckily, I decided to push through and continue reading because the book got better again towards the end.
There were some parts that were a bit slow-paced and too descriptive for me. Also, in the middle, I was a bit lost with the plot and what the point of the story was. But both the beginning and the end were great.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
