I really enjoyed this love story. I enjoyed how independent Ella is and how what came across through the whole story was how important her daughter and her well being is. In this story Ella seeks a family and she needs to find who she is in order to find the family she has alway wanted. I really like how the other Monroe's made sure she felt like family and she was just as important as they were. I was not a huge fan of Noah he bugged me at first but he grows on you in the end. This book very much feels like you are catching up with friends and not reading fiction. I loved how clean this book was and how it was a quick and easy read. I can't wait to read more of this series and see what's in play for the rest of the Monroe clan.

This was such a great read I admit I would stop reading it for a few minutes every now and then so it would last longer! The town of Second Chance id full of friendly yet suspicious people as the first lot of Monroe's descend into town, the town don't know what they are up to and even the Monroe's aren't exactly sure now either as they earn more about the town, the people in it and the history. This story drew me in and made me excited to read more in the series as as you read you see where other stories may go and you want to learn even more about everyone. Ella wasn't really a Monroe however you could see how Brother in law Shane and Sister in laws Laurel and Sophie loved her and looked out for her in their own way and ugh wee Penny and woof too cute, she almost has the perfect family but both Noah and Ella struggle to over come there own scars and all you want is for them to get together!! ❤

Enjoyable, An unusual story, but a little too open-ended for me. A lot of set-up for things I presume will develop in other books in the series. The resolution of this plot seemed just a little abrupt to me. Still, well-written, if simple.

Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis sees single mom Ella bring her daughter to the snowy mountains of Idaho to visit Second Chance.

Will Ella find another chance at love there?

Ella Bowman Monroe
Ella is the widow of Bryce Monroe, and she has a two-year-old girl named Penny. Penny, Ella, and five cousins of the Monroe line decide to head out to Second Chance, Idaho, to see what it is all about. Mostly to figure out why Grandpa Harlan would leave the town to all twelve grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Ella is a sweet mom and cousin trying to keep herself tied to the only family she truly knows, thanks to her marriage to Bryce. It seems like the older Monroes, not the cousins, want her out of their family. Besides being a mother, Ella is a savvy real estate agent and good at her job. You tell by how she handles a few of the properties that she could look at.

Noah Bishop
Dr. Noah Bishop was an orthopedic surgeon until he was in an accident that left his hand ugly and unable to perform surgery. So, he goes to hide out in Second Chance, Idaho, to try and be a country general practitioner to everyone in Second Chance. Noah was definitely a grump when Ella showed up, but as they spent more time together, she changed the town's grump into a good guy. He is like an onion. Ella had to peel back the layers to reveal his inner nice person.
I love Noah and Ella's relationship and how it blossomed despite their not wanting it to. These two are definitely cute together, and he is an excellent guy to Penny.

The Story

After Grandpa Harlan's funeral, the Monroe clan attends the reading of his will. The children of Harlan got a sweet deal, while the grandkids and great-grandchildren not so much. So Ella, with Penny in tow and five other Monroes, went to Second Chance to learn more about it. I love how Ms. Curtis set up the series in a way that, in each new installment, we learn more about the town and story.

Five Stars
Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis has Harlan Monroe's grandchildren finding out about their inheritance and learning what to do about it. Ms. Curtis has a great series on her hands, and I can't wait to get into the next book...at some point. I am giving Kissed by the Country Doc by Melinda Curtis five stars and recommend it.
