This book took me out of a massive reading slump!

If you like romance with action, dragons and fantasy, then that’s for you. I also found it quite funny at times.

I then read Iron Flame in a few days and now really sad I have to wait until January!

Broken heart, Dagger, Dragon, Forbidden Fruit or Best Friend?

When I finished the book the only thing that I could think of was Klaus Mikelson, running around the Mikelson mansion yelling Rebekah.

Rebecca Yarros, I was never a fantasy reader I mean I dabbled with Twilight because I mean who doesn't like Twilight and the Hunger Games. However, after reading Fourth Wing, I am a die hard, fantasy, world building, revolutionary, dragon rider. (Hey, a girl can dream right). That being said My TBR thinks you, and if I ever go to therapy do you accept bills lol.

My absolute favorite characters have to be Tarin and Andarna because i mean who doesn't love dragons. Not to mention the banter between the dragons and their riders are literally the best part of the book. Nothing had me laughing more than Tarin putting Violet in her place, and telling her to live up to his potential he knows she possesses.

Violet is a fragile, delicate looking young woman who everyone is always underestimating, thinking they are helping her by "protecting her". However, Violet has the heart of a fighter and a rider, and she doesn't even know it. Vi is my favorite character in this book, she is a perfect example of something is not always as it appears. You may look innocent and weak, but at the core no one knows what we are truly capable until we show them.

Dain, I don't even know where to start with Dain, Violets best friend since childhood, second-year rider student. I am not going to lie in the beginning I was pro Dain. But as the story moved along, Dain began to annoy me greatly, always undermining and cutting Vi down thinking she is too fragile, weak etc. Dain's desire to always follow the rules, be the "good doting son" is absolutely exhausting by the end of this book. I don't wish him harm at least I didn't at the beginning but by the end I wanted to push him off his dragon myself.

Xaden- I mean where to even start what's not to love about the grumpy, dark, brooding handsomely irresistible boy that everyone tells you to stay away from. I love his devotion to the rebel children; he wears his heart on his sleeve and is always putting others first even if he isn't showing it. When he first sees Vi, things start to get fun, entertaining and amazing. The amount of banter these two have back and forth is literally goals. I could not get enough of his character and I'm so glad about how things go for his character. He and Vi are a great example of what a couple should be and trials and tribulations that one goes to for love?

Jack- I could not stand this character from the second he arrived on the book, I wanted to flick him out of imaginary, literary existence he is so rude, annoying and pompous. I understand he needed to be in the story for the purpose of building it but man i wish he was never there lol.

Rhiannon- she is my favorite side character for Vi's side, she is the best friend a girl could ask for and she is simply a baddie herself. I love her banter, personality and dedication to those around her.

Liam- He is by far my favorite character in the entire book because he is so selfless, the best bodyguard, friend, teacher etc. Watching Liams journey throughout this book was nothing short of amazing.

That being said this book will rip you heart out, stomp on it, and resew it reimplanting it into your chest. This book has you laughing out loud, rooting for the characters and feeling all the love, hatred, devotion, dedication and feelings of all the characters. There are so many amazing quotes, lessons and morals to learn throughout this storyline. I finished this book and immedately dove into Iron Flame, i hear it is going to rip my heart out, but I am in Navarrian through and through till the end, I'm in it for the long haul. How could you not fall in love with a book, that is about broody, handsome dragon rider, fierce strong female characters and dragons.
