If you've read Anne McCaffrey's Pern series, you'll recognize some of the mechanics of the dragons.  These dragons, however, are much scarier, as is the use of casually accepted murder. The spice level here wasn't quite overboard, but I worry that if the second book contains more than this one did, it could start to interfere with the plot rather than add a break from it.  At least the book was never boring.

Best fantasy book I’ve read since Harry Potter

divergent fanfiction on steroids

I am in LOVE with this book, more so than I thought I would be. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the last line and I sat there in shock for a solid five minutes. The world building: stunning The characters: all super unique and fun to get to know The plot: 10/10

I’m so unsure how I feel about this book!! The beginning had me hooked, I was very into it. Then the middle section I found slow, yet it had my attention, and then the ending left on such a cliff hanger!! But do I like reading about dragons enough to keep going? I can’t decide… I almost wish I read this before ACOTAR.
