Watching Alwyn's story unfold and thinking of where he started to where he is at the end of this book is truly fascinating.

Alwyn is such a charismatic character to follow. He is clever and witty and he is loyal which make him an easy character to like. However the path he is on, and the choices he has made...well let's just say I am torn between my like of him as a character and my extreme dislike of where he is heading. It makes for a very compelling reading experience.

There is war, intrigue and mounting religious fanaticism at play. All of this is offset by Alwyn and other memorable characters.

Thanks to various hints given to the reader, we have a general idea of where the finale is heading. But I know full well that the journey is going to be absolutely riveting and I wouldn't put it past the author to completely turn things on their head. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Absolutely well done. Well fleshed out characters. Grey af. Sieges. War. Religion. Amazing world building.

Through all this the book keeps you engrossed and rooting for the most amoral characters.

Absolute must. 4/5 only because the previous book was awesome.

My favorite out of the trilogy. The primary conflict is front row here.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. Intricately written plot, larger than life characters, amazing battle sequences all makes this book a very worthy read.
