Not much happened when I really think about it but so did everything. I can see the gradual character development, and the plot moving forward. So I didn't mind spending time with such well written characters.
My faves are still Tyrion, Arya and Catelyn. Although Lady Olenna is catching up with her rose farts. Lemme know of your faves! And Happy reading!

The sheer scale of 'A song of ice and fire' makes this frustrating; you make a little progress witg one thread, only to leave it dangling for an age.
It's the best book of the series so far. Martin has grown into the narrative, and while there's still a liberal helping of sex and violence, it's less gratuitous than in the first two (particularly the first) books. There's a long way to go to achieve 'show, don't tell' - but at least it all seems to happen for a purpose.
One or two of the characters start to show some depth in this book - and sometimes there's even a hint of morality guiding their actions.
