Quite enjoyable, and very interesting in that you don't see long(ish)-form sci-fi from this period much, so having it set in the Depression is rather different. Though they're not cardboard cutouts, the characters (as usual) take a back seat to the idea being explored. Somewhat surprisingly reminded me of Sartre.
