Cute little cozy mystery with lots of beach atmosphere. Makes me long for summer. Also how many books is it going to take for this lady and the cop to hook up?

Cute easy breezy seaside mystery. Nothing scholarly, but not too cheesy. Good balance.

NO GOOD TEA GOES UNPUNISHED by Bree Baker is the second book in the Seaside Café Mysteries. It’s the first book I’ve read in this series but it definitely won’t be my last! I found it easy to jump in and felt like I knew the protagonist, Everly Swan, and the supporting characters. I loved the addition of her beekeeping, adorable yet quirky aunts and their quest for submitting the perfect three-minute educational dystopian honeybee apocalypse video to showcase the plight of the honeybees. The author provides humor with bee puns and Everly’s terror of bees, yet I found it sweet how she overcomes her phobia to help the aunts.

Ms. Baker provides just enough backstory without detracting from the central plot, so I didn’t feel lost. The action starts right from the beginning and pulled me in, wanting to find out what happens with the tragic bride. The subplots support the central theme and as the reader progresses through the book, the author provides plenty of twists to keep them guessing. An exciting conclusion wraps the threads up into a satisfying conclusion that had me wanting to read the next one.

I was provided an advance copy via Netgalley with the hopes I would review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
