Thank you to Minotaur Books for the e-arc of So Happy Together! This was not what I expected at all from the synopsis on the back. All the characters kept me guessing with their morals and what was going on. In the novel, Jane becomes a little obsessed with her ex and finds something one night that could change everything she thought of him. The story goes on from there. I liked the female friendship involved in the novel (which felt unlikely). However, it kinda felt like main character didn’t have much of a backbone. She rationalized a lot of what this guy did and gave him a lot of power over her. There were several times where I wanted to say, “Girl, stand UP!” There was also a lot of manipulation and discussion of past trauma in this book, so please check any trigger warnings. I would maybe recommend this book — it didn’t hit like I wanted it to.

The first quarter of the audiobook inspired me to continue watching You on Netflix, because the vibes are so similar. Worley wrote such an addictive thriller with relatable characters that I dreaded each time I had to pause it. Jane, Zoe, and Colin are all so convincing that by 75% into the story, I began questioning everything I thought I knew. I love the girl bond relationship that develops over the course of the novel. Do NOT skip the epilogue. We always think we know people, as each of the three claim to know one another, but how intimately do we really know our friends and partners? Great narration, too, with real emotion pushing through.

So Happy Together is a fast paced messy chaotic twisty thriller about obsession.

The FMC is very unlikable. At least for most of the story she is. She is obsessed with someone she went on a handful of dates with before he broke it off with her. She is not quite in touch with reality when she makes plans to get him back. I’d say if you like Freida McFadden type books you would like this one.

4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you NetGalley, Olivia Worley, and Minotaur Books for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
