GOT YOUR BACK is a morality play in every sense of the expression. It's about the difference between doing the right thing and the wrong thing, between honesty and lying... especially the lies you tell yourself.

Some might consider this a horror story, others might find it quite humorous. That is the talent of John McIlveen. He takes you to that place within yourself where you cringe until you just bust out laughing to relieve the tension that has built.

If you read the blurb, you know that the title is a play on words; words that can mean the difference between life and death, honor and cowardice.

I have had the distinct pleasure of reading McIlveen's short fiction and his breakout novel HANNAHWHERE. My recommendation to you is that you put his work on your must read list. You won't be sorry.

I loved [b:Hannahwhere|25811372|Hannahwhere|John M. McIlveen|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1435508905s/25811372.jpg|48025783] by McIlveen, so of course when he posted that he had a new story out, I had to get it right away. "GOT YOUR BACK" was a very interesting novelette. A man wakes up one day missing his spine, what comes next is very interesting. A story that touches the paranormal, the truth, and the just plain weird. I enjoyed the novelette, it was short, creepy, and to-the-point. The ending also reminds us that revenge is a dish best served cold. Bravo, John, another great work!
