I'll admit that I decided to read this book after finding it on Reddit as a recommendation from someone asking for books about man-whores who didn't stop sleeping around after meeting the FMC. I appreciated the ask because I kind of hate books where men immediately change who they are for a person they just met. The skeptic in me. This book did not disappoint. The story focuses around the MMC who is one of the original members of the town's local MC who has never fallen in love due to his damaged childhood and time in the military and spends most of his time sleeping around, whilst the FMC is a goody two shoes who was raised by the local church's pastor. The story was well written. The FMC character development in particular took a lot of turns that were unexpected for me, plus her ending stayed true to her character. The MMC was a little more predictable, but the story for the FMC had a lot of depth. It made me feel very somber in some parts. It made me smile and sometimes laugh out loud. Varied emotions like that throughout a book are a positive for me, so if MC's, bad boys, good girls, interesting side characters, all in a small town setting are your thing, you might want to give this one a try.
