I was disappointed here.  Since it was 0.5 in all the lists, I thought it would be a real backstory for her, but instead it was a scene from her perspective after she leaves Alina in the infirmary.  It isn't a bad scene, but to call it 0.5 is just misleading because it doesn't really give us new info - she was abused by the king, the queen is awful to her.  That's all we got.

Don't make sense at all! Like did a miss something? Did I read something wrong? Because it doesn't make a sense

"It hurts, but I can bear it. Because I'm a doll, and a servant. Because I am a pretty thing and a soldier all the same".
My poor Genya.

It's not a book, even not long enough to be a short story. It has a lot of potential and I would like to see more of Genya and her perspective, this is a first glimpse of her story.

“I’d wish to be a true Grisha again, of course——but short of that, I’d settle for a lock on my chamber door.”

OUCH. YIKE.

I can’t believe I didn’t know this short story existed. I love Genya with all of my heart, she truly is such an underrated character.
