When I was recommended this one, I said say less bring it on. Karissa delivered tenfold. I absolutely adored this one from the spice to the banter to the Christmas vibes it was everything. The audio was SO SO SO GOOD!!!

Ophelia and Frankie slayed me in the best way. 😂 The banter between these two was chefs kiss my friends. I was laughing SO MUCH that people driving by me on the roads probably thought I was crazy. The edging in this book had me panting by the time "it" finally happened. Also please their meet cute was EVERYTHING. Also please I need to be Ophelia's BFF.

This book was just so fun and festive with so many laugh out loud moments. I highly recommend this and double recommend it on audio!

-1 star automatically for the mention of heat lightning. Otherwise, love me some brainless spicy Christmas content!!!!!

“Christmas in Coconut Creek” by Karissa Kinword was the perfect feel-good, sweet, laugh-out-loud funny holiday read! Once I picked this book up, it was difficult to put down.

Ophelia (FMC) is a relatable mid-20s school teacher from a small town, with low expectations. She comes from a blended family, making Christmas difficult to enjoy. As a result, she decide this Christmas will be different and using her PTO, heads to stay with her BFF for three weeks in Coconut Creek. Frankie (MMC) is working through his past while trying to rebuild his confidence and determine his next steps in life. A hapchance and hilarious meeting leads to fiery dynamics and sets off an entertaining, fun, and romantic chain of events.

Some of my favorite tropes in the book include:
♥️ Hallmark moments!

This was a hard one to rate because I LOVED all of the characters and the overall plot. However, I think the pace of Frankie & Ophelia’s story just didn’t work for me and everything was just kind of too easy. I can’t even believe I’m complaining about a lack of angst.

This was recommended to me as a good between books/reading slump and it is just that. It's a cute story with no 3rd quarter breakup, and lots of spice! A very cute, quick read that had me laughing out loud several times. I have been submersed in dark romance books so this was a fun book to break that up.

I don't mean this to be negative at all but it almost feels like Karissa is a newer writer. Some things felt a bit all over the place, wordier than necessary, and it almost felt like the spicy scenes were taken from several other books and plugged into here. There is a good amount of spice but it's almost as if the Frankie and O were different people in each of the scenes LOL. I also felt like we were told about a lot of side characters and FMC/MMC personal issues, that were introduced and then glossed over or one sentence and we're done with that. I also feel like if you are going to introduce military connections/trauma, we need to delve a little deeper. Otherwise we are playing Delta Force dress up compared to how some other books tie those struggles in.

I hope she continues the series, I would absolutely read more from her. I am here for Sam & Tyler's story. Overall absolutely recommend!
