Even though this book took me forever to read, I loved every second of it. Her writing style is so rich and the history comes alive on the page. Currently reading another by her and loving it just as much!

It took me a long time to get through this book. I put it down at about 80% after Antony lost faith and she had to demand he let her in when he wouldn’t face his men. We all know how the story ends, yet I found myself avoiding reading the downfall of Cleopatra and Antony whose story has become a part of us all.

This was a great book, I enjoyed it thoroughly and love Cleopatra more now than when I started the book.

An interesting and involved story of Cleopatra and her life and loves. Sometimes too much detail and the book is weighty. You can see how Margaret George got herself very involved in the character and the situation in the world. I did enjoy it but felt it was a bit long and occasionally could be a bit shorter as things did lag. However it was very interesting and did get you into the mind of the characters.
