Not my favorite of hers -- but I'm not much of a novella person in general, and it seems somewhat unfair to complain of a novella: "It felt slight." Well, yeah! More legitimately: the main couple didn't interest me much, and the climax felt like a lesser version of some of those from Charles' superior Will Darling series.

With this book, I think it's safe to say that the Lilywhite Boys series is my favorite series from K.J. Charles. She manages to pack more things into a novella sized story than what some authors do with full length books while at the same time not making it feel extremely rushed. The romance is great, the mystery/trickery elements were super satisfying, and we get to see old beloved characters without making it feel forced for them to show up or be mentioned.

Thanks to my friend CAP, I got to enjoy this breezy Christmas mystery/romance just in time for the holidays! The remaining Lilywhite Boys books are now on my list.
