Thoughts: Read this forever ago, really enjoyed this!!

J.T. Geissinger really outdid herself with this one. Which is great because I was kinda worried after reading Darkness Bound. Not that I didn't enjoy it. The ending was just what the title said it was, extremely dark and it left me all messed up. I didn't know what to expect or how this series would play out but I was not at all disappointed. This entire series was EPIC and the finale was absolutely AMAZING!!!! I am always sad to see a series I love end but I am also looking forward to reading at lot more from Ms Geissinger........☺☺☺

Ok, I was not expecting the twist to this series. I will be honest and say I almost stopped reading this book because I thought the twist meant certain people died. I was not going to be happy. I am glad I stuck it out. This series was really good but also frustrating for me. I hated the sadistic alphas and thought they should have been handled way sooner. I hated the multiple enemies that just never seemed to die when they should. And then this last book jumps decades into the future. I needed to adjust to that. But, I can say that it ended really well and it had a lot in the series the I did really like as well. Overall, I am glad I read it and it was a unique twist to a shifter romance series. I do think I love this authors contemporary books much more though.

I was afraid that I was gong to be disapointed when I first stated reading this book. I loved all the books in this series up to this point and this one had a different feel for me in the beginning. But once I got into it, it turned out to be a great ending to the series. I would give it a 5 but I thought some of the past main characters needed something. not sure what but something more than bringing them in because it was the last book. That is how it felt to me.

This is a new book in the Night Prowler Series and I absolutely loved it. Ms Geissinger did not disappoint with this book in the series. The future is here now and things are getting worse for the humans and especially the Aberrants or Ikati breed. There are evils in the world hunting them down and wanting to forever rid them from the earth.

Lumina has no idea of her past or what she is, it takes a strong person to survive what she has up to this point in her life, and with everything working against her she learns to survive any way she can. She has suffered immeasurable turmoil, but you know what they say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Magnus is a hunter and a protector of his species and will do anything he can so that he can save Lumina and his people. The chemistry between the two of them is scorching hot and the passion is intense. They are made for each other, the friction and the build up of their passion for one another is fantastic. I loved reading their story and how they had to endure and sacrifice to save each other.

This is a fantastic read and the author does not disappoint in the least, I was so happy to be able to read about previous characters and have answers and and outcome to some other mysteries from other stories in the series solved. The authors writing style something I have always enjoyed and this book was no different. It kept you turning pages to see what might happen next, there were twists and turns in the plot that were unexpected and never a dull moment in the entire book. Exciting, passionate, riveting with lots of heat and action, this book is a must read! I guess you could read this as a stand alone but it is better to be read in order of the series. if you have not read the first books then I would suggest you do, they are just as riveting as this one. Happy Reading!

Dark, intense, heart-wrenching, sweet, tragic and poignant are just some of the adjectives to describe the roller coaster ride of feelings this book will take you on. The latest (and unfortunately last) installment of the Night Prowler series provides a gripping and emotional finale to this outstanding shapeshifter saga. [a:J. T. Geissinger|6490643|J. T. Geissinger|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-ccc56e79bcc2db9e6cdcd450a4940d46.png]'s voice is both, lyrical and distinctive, and imbues her writing with a special quality.

The story takes place roughly twenty-four years after the cataclysmic events in [b:Darkness Bound|18812785|Darkness Bound (Night Prowler, #5)|J.T. People live in perpetual fear of the Phoenix corporation and the Imperial Federation, its military arm. This is the world that Lumina Bohn has grown up in with her father as her only family. All her life she has tried to be normal, to fit in and not to stand out, but when she gets angry or upset her powers manifest in strange and disturbing ways. On top of that she hears a female voice in her head that tells her to wake up and embrace her powers before it is too late and her dreams are haunted by a gorgeous man with yearning in his beautiful chocolate eyes. In this dreamworld they are lovers but he calls her by another name.

After another incident at the hospice where she works the Grand Minister (a type of inquisitor) is coming to discover whether there are any Aberrants hiding there. When Lumina is unmasked she finally lets go of the control she has over her inner beast and manages to flee. After she literally escapes down the rabbit hole she awakens again in the presence of the man of her dreams, only he seems strangely aloof. Lumina has to discover she is not who (or even what) she thought she was. To save her family and her people she has to trust in the powers that she has supressed for so long and in the man who seems almost a stranger…

I've loved this series from the start and Into Darkness is a fitting end. If possible, it is even darker than the previous books, set in a bleak, post-apocalyptic world in which the sun is hidden by toxic clouds. It's great to meet the characters from previous books again, but in a way also sad to see how some of them have suffered over the years. The love-story is in turn sweet and heart-wrenching as the love between the hero and the heroine seems doomed almost before they have a chance to acknowledge their feelings for each other. But after all the suffering there finally is a happy ending not only for the main protagonists, but also for two other pairs of lovers and the Ikati.

Really liked this volume, a great story and characters with excellent pacing.
