An amazing book: it’s joyful and funny to read and at the same time conveys a lot of context and background narrative to live in South Africa and how Trevor experienced apartheid. I feel like I had a chance to look at a completely different word through they eyes and perspective of someone else; someone growing up as a colored boy. Highly relatable and definitely recommended!

Before reading this boook it would have never occured to me that there was such a  difference between being black or colored. In the USA systemic racism impacts you if you aren't white not on levels based on how dark your skin tone is

I thought this would be a primarily humorous book, what with Trevor Noah being a comedian and all. It’s not that at all. It’s definitely funny at times, but more than that it’s poignant and insightful.

Well I’m already biased because I genuinely love this man but regardless what a brilliant and eye-opening memoir detailing his life prior to comedy and late night tv. I learned so much historically and culturally and was beyond enticed throughout. Shoutout to his mom, what an incredible woman!
